Trees were planted in this estate to beautify the otherwise dull surroundings. The planting of trees is an example of an environmental strategy put into place to ensure sustainable development. This picture shows that Singapore has not neglected the environmental aspect of development although she is currently in hot pursuit of a booming economy, unlike China.
